Mega Matte is a matte lip creme with quite a thick consistency, and comes in a tube with a doe-foot applicator. First of all, it smells amazing, something sweet like buttercream (but if you’re not a fan of scents, don’t worry, it goes away once it’s applied). It goes on almost completely opaque, but is more opaque and longer lasting over lipliner. While it does go on completely matte, it does take a long time to properly set, at which point it’s mostly touch-proof, but not smudge-proof. It does come off a little if you’re not careful, so would need minor touch ups during the day. It’s pretty long-lasting, which is all I want in a lipstick (as well as being matte), and very comfortable to wear, not tacky and I don’t find it to be drying, but I don’t often find lip products drying where other people do.It won’t peel, crack, or crumble either. In my opinion, the formula is fairly similar to Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream, but maybe a little more opaque, and longer lasting.
I got it in the shade Hasta La Vista, and my goodness, is it stunning, an intense blue red that goes well with my palest-of-pale complexion. It comes in 5 shades in total; Two Bob – a light peachy nude, Sinful – baby pink, Hasta La Vista – bright blue-red, Chippie – coral tinged pink, and Oddball – a bright barbie pink.
It seems this brand is quite hard to find. I found it on Amazon, but according to their website, their UK stockists include Asda, T.K.Maxx, Next, and Peacocks. I did recently stumble across it at my local Peacocks, which pleased me! Prices seem to vary too. Their website states it costs £4.95, however in Peacocks it was selling for £2.50. Either way, it is quite a bargain!
Overall, I would definitely recommend Mega Matte to anyone who enjoys matte lip products, or to someone who just wants to try one out! You can find it on Amazon here in shade Hasta La Vista.
Have a lovely day x
